Introduction on Dubai

Dubai is located on the Eastern coast of the Arabian Peninsula and is one of the seven emirates of the United Arab Emirates. For 177 years, Dubai has been ruled by the Al Maktoum family. Under thier ruling Dubai has turned into a business and tourism mecca. It is turning into one of the major cities of the world, and has become one of the most wealthiest countries in the world.
Dubai was once a major oil export, but they only have 6 percent of their reserve left. Because Dubai is running out of its oil, it is turning into a major tourism destination. Dubai is currently the largest exporting center of the Middle East. Millions of people visit Dubai each year; because of its beautiful beaches, attractions, and warm and sunny climate it serves as a perfect tourism destination.

  1. I been really interested in Dubai since I since their buildings and the ones that are on the way. This is a beautiful destination from all the pictures and videos I seen, but what I didn't know that they were running out of oil export, that is incredible. I hope to visit one day this wonderful place.

  2. I think that it might be a good thing that Dubai is running out of their oil export. That way it keeps the greed out of a beautiful country. People can spend their time moving away from the stresses of society to go to this beautiful paradise. There can be no worry that oil companies will destroy this paradise, so it can be seen as a haven.

On a personal note, I see this first hand already. I grew up in a small town in Pennsylvania, where now oil companies are attacking that town because there is a lot of oil and natural gas beneath the earth that they stand. The oil companies can ruin the small aspect of their town, which is definately negative. I go to that town once a year to get away from everything. There is no cellular service and no wireless internet. What's going to happen if these oil companies come and make it a boomtown? Therefore, I believe that it is a good thing that there is barely any oil on Dubai, just for the fact that people can enjoy that beautiful tourism destination.

  3. I agree with Jason. Dubai really is beautiful, and it might be a good thing that their reserve is running out, so that they don't continue to pollute their environment.
I've seen a couple shows on Dubai recently, and it seems like their tourism is really booming. Some of the buildings they've created are incredible, like the Ski Budai resort. Hopefully their tourism will continue to pick up, and they'll be able to use that as a main economic support, instead of oil.
